“Gardner is encouraging us all to start where we are and dare to make our lives bigger and stronger, more satisfactory, and better. Chris Gardner is a knockout!”
Chris Gardner’s astonishing memoir—the phenomenal New York Times bestseller, The Pursuit of Happyness, which inspired the film of the same name starring Will Smith—served as a shining beacon of hope for countless people. In Start Where You Are, “a book that teaches you how to transform the impossible into the possible” (Sidney Poitier), Gardner offers indispensible life lessons in getting from where you are to where you want to be.

SGT in the Army
This is a great book. I received this book for my 28th b-day. It came right in time as I was reduced in rank, which means less money coming in. Instead of feeling sorry for myself and losing more rank, this book helped me deal with the horrible situation that I was in. This is a must read book for everyone. 90% of everything he talks about in this book, were situations in which I found myself in previous years of my life. Except this book mentors me on how to deal with those situations. Now I feel, that I have the knowledge, and motivation to out shine my peers, so I can earn my rank back in a timely manner. Thanks Chris Gardner for sharing something i've been missing all my life.
