Only in a dream..

I have been a stepmom for 3.5 years. I was looking for more help and support so I thought I would give this book a try. I can honestly say, this book is a joke. The concepts, advice, and stages are not practical and would only work in a perfect world. The book fails to mention reality.

Stepfamilies don’t function in stages, these stages can be happening all at once due to the different people and dynamics going on, at the same time. The bio parents are not always responsive to your good intentions and neither are the kids.

Reality says choose the larger concepts that are only talked about in the end: be nice and be very patient. Pray like crazy that everyone remains forgiving, communicating with one another, and all those that are tied to a step family are willing to keep trying.
