Outstanding
Honest and integrity
I have read the book
I read the book, so I cannot discuss how well the AUDIO aspect is, but this book is poorly written, filled with self quotes, and political worship. This is not a book with new ideas, but rather a megaphone or MAGA-phone for people stuck in an echo chamber. This book is of a ad for DeSantis rather than something that gives good information.
Insanely right wing bias
I’m a self described centrist and wanted to get some different perspectives with this book. I knew going in to this book it would be really conservative considering who wrote it and the topic at hand. There is plenty I can find middle ground on with the authors, like the short sightedness of the COVID shut downs. But the idea that schools who teach CRT get historically lower grades and test scores seems like something right out of hardcore Republican propaganda — especially when you look at states with public schools in the top, and bottom, 10 and compare it to which states are censoring the teaching of racial inequity and which are at least openly discussing the ideas that challenge conservative narratives. This is a fairly eye opening example of how those on the right are trying to come off as saviors of the country, but are only arguing the opposite side of the same coin as people who are really “woke.” Her sources are primarily ones who only support her findings, not any that might challenge her views, and this makes for very skewed information. Being anti-woke doesn’t make you anymore of a free thinker as being woke does.
On the other hand, her topics of discussion did give me the opportunity to do my own research and ask some interesting questions about what I really think about these things. So I do have to thank her for that. Oh, and the narrator has a nice voice.
