Publisher Description
As a glassmaker and a magician-in-training, Opal Cowen understands trial by fire. Now it's time to test her mettle. Someone has sabotaged the Stormdancer clan's glass orbs, killing their most powerful magicians. The Stormdancers--particularly the mysterious and mercurial Kade--require Opal's unique talents to prevent it happening again.
But when the mission goes awry, Opal must tap in to a new kind of magic as stunningly potent as it is frightening. And the further she delves into the intrigue behind the glass and magic, the more distorted things appear.
With lives hanging in the balance - including her own - Opal must control powers she hadn't known she possessed...powers that might lead to disaster beyond anything she's ever known.

I don't know what to do!!!!!
I love Maria Books, but i don't know if i want to buy this book. i would miss the old Yelena to much. Maria is such a good auther and i feel like i have gotten to know the worlds she has made, and i don't know if i read Storm Glass if that will change.
So if you have read the first 3 book and really like this next one please let me know
Thank you.
Good book but...
I really enjoy Maria V. Snyder's books. I agree that Poison Study may have been the best but I loved the entire Study series. Read it! Listen to it.
I looked forward to Storm Glass. I actually read it because the audio was delayed by a few days. I liked the book. Opal was not Yelana but I didn't expect her to be. I'm anxious for the next installment Sea Glass.
Problem #1 - It is not really unabridged. At 3:09:18 in Part 2, there is a part missing. You don't get to heard the last 3 pages of Chapter 23 or any of Chapter 24. I had iTunes reset my download. This part was missing both times.
Problem #2 - Jennifer Van Dyck as a reader was a let down. I delighted in Gabra Zackman's reading of the Study series. I accept the artistic choice may allow for different word pronounciations between readers. However, I am convinced that Ms. Van Dyck did not listen to Ms. Zackman's excellent work. Perhaps, she deliberately chose to pronounce each and every proper name as differently as possible. It was quite annoying. Some words were not even recognizable at the same character names. Finally, a real word was mispronounced. Sai - Opal's weapon - rhymes with "high" not "hay"...
Read it. Listen to it. If Gabra had read it, I'd give it 4 stars.
