Very Enjoyable and Informative
I very much enjoyed this audio book. Right from the start of the book the author inserts the reader directly into the book. In that first scene (which I won't spoil by revealing) the main character, Stryker, is put into a challenge that that will determine if he lives or dies. Styrker's personal skills is what will keep him alive. Stryker is a Marine, initially trained a Camp Pendleton, and quickly he earns his way to be one of the elite soldiers from Force Recon. The book puts him into many situations and as a reader you will get to gain some of his knowledge by seeing what tools are important to his survival. As the story unfolds the author puts Stryker in situations, some touching and emotional and others high speed, where skills and decisions will determine his survival. The dialog in the book will give the reader significant nuggets of knowledge showing what is needed in this post-apocalyptic world. How important are weapons, water, attitude, skills? You will discover that some things simply do not matter or simply will not last. I enjoyed the character development and the pace of the book. I am headed to the second book now. Enjoy.
