Sweet Danger: Erotic Stories of Forbidden Desire for Couples (Unabridged‪)‬

How does one write a "clean" review on something as hardcore as the offerings within this collection of 20 stories? More importantly, how does one say "hardcore" without scaring couples away from an otherwise amazing audiobook experience? Do not be afraid, couples! This one is for you! Prepare to be aroused!

In general, Violet Blue's selection of stories for Sweet Dangers has something for everyone! Despite the wildly varying content throughout the collection that would sometimes lead us to the very edge of our comfort zone, we easily enjoyed almost all of these smoking hot offerings! As with any collection, some were more enjoyable than others, but for the most part, we found the entire experience incredibly arousing and satisfying. How does this happen? How is it that this audiobook can push just about every taboo button imaginable, but leave us smiling and turned-on at the end of each story? Well, there are actually TWO reasons for this.

First and foremost, Rose Caraway. For those of you not familiar with Rose's work as a writer and narrator at her incredibly sexy "The Kiss Me Quick's Podcast," you are in for a very sweet treat! Rose takes her work as a narrator very seriously, bringing about a tangible sense of empathy from her "lurid listeners" for all of her characters. Even during some of the particularly rough scenes in Sweet Dangers, you will discover a degree of safety and sanctuary in Rose's sexy-yet-intelligent bedroom voice, as she boldly guides you towards an ending you were probably not expecting. And at no point does Rose ever come off as the cheesy, air-headed seductress (unless called for, of course) as she smoothly and confidently guides you through this incredibly hot anthology. From the scenes requiring the lightest and loving of touches, to the darker, knife-edged scenes where the protagonists are kneeling on wet floors in dark places, Rose will guide you safely to each story's climax, and you will love her for it. Time and again you will "see" Rose become the characters in these stories . . . it's a pretty amazing thing to hear.

And of course there are the stories themselves to consider! Although there is a noticeable range of talent here, the most important commonality between them all is the ability of the writers to bring the ship safely back to shore after piloting us passengers through choppy and unpredictable waters -- probably the most important consideration considering the target demographic here (couples). Although we wanted some of the stories to continue, at no point did we as a listeners feel ripped off or or stranded by the work in Sweet Danger.

We could easily review each of the 20 stories here from memory, but doing so without giving away spoilers would be a tricky endeavor. These tales are guaranteed to titillate; they will probably generate discussion between you and your partner; they will scare you; they will thrill you; they will push buttons that you probably didn't know existed . . . but most importantly, they will turn you on. For couples beginning to explore their sexual boundaries through good fiction, we suggest starting off with "Dress Me Up" or "In the Back of Raquel" before moving on to the more intense fare such as "Old Friends" or "Cocked and Loaded." For those of you who have already enjoyed these stories in print form, please consider giving it another go with Rose Caraway as your co-pilot . . . you'll probably get a completely different experience.

If I had ONE suggestion for future collaborations of this kind, it would be for the inclusion of MUSIC. Regular listeners of Caraway's podcast have come to expect not only amazing performances from the narrator herself, but the addition of perfectly-timed music from some amazing artists that help drive the stories home. Just a little music would've taken this experience to a whole other level.

This is the first audiobook I've ever listened to, but as an author and long-time collector, I'm no stranger to erotica. I enjoy reading erotica at the dog park, in a waiting room, or to my partner in the bedroom. I was excited to try an audio book, which we could listen to together (and as a bonus would not get me carsick if I listened to it in the car!). I was very pleasantly surprised by Rose Caraway's clear voice; she is very easy to understand, reads at a good pace (not too fast, not dragging along), and her sweet, feminine voice reading those hot, spicy words makes it even sexier. As for the words themselves, Violet Blue never fails to deliver exciting authors and stories with delightful twists. These are bold stories that will give you many hours of pleasure and, more importantly, spark your imagination to liven up your own bedroom play in unexpected and wicked ways.

I have fallen to sleep with my earbuds for years. First it was music, then podcast, then I started to focus on erotica, then I discovered the Sexy Librarian and the Kiss Me Quicks. Rose Caraways amazing voice which would be arousing if she just said "hi" started publishing Hypnotized, then 69 ways, and now this her latest works gives me something to listen to anytime. The giveaway that my wife notices is that I'm always rock hard while listening. Wonderful stories, perfectly read, amazingly HOT!
