Logan Trahan one of the French Quarter’s hottest bartenders. A charming, sexy southern boy whose needs are simple: make a living running his family bar and make sure everyone who walks through the doors has a great time - especially the single female tourists.

And then Dana Doucet catches his attention.

Dana hasn’t let her hair down since her husband’s funeral, but even an uber-organized single mom isn’t fully immune to sexy, persistent southern charm. So yeah, she finally gives in to Logan’s naughty flirtations after - ironically - nine months.

And now, these opposites are stuck with each other forever. Or at least for the next 18 years, eight months, and one week.

Single mom, playboy bartender, happily ever after...

Dana Doucet is a widow with two young daughters. Her husband died while serving in the military. She is a member of a single parent support group that has developed into a family unit. Through this support group’s family events Dana meets Logan Trahan. Logan’s brother is also a member of the support group.

Logan Trahan is a bar owner/bartender. He has been interested in Dana since he first saw her at the support group family event. He asked her out multiple times, always being turned down. One night while working at his bar Dana walks in. She has one thing on her mind: a hot, steamy one night hook-up with Logan.

A few weeks later Dana realizes this one-night stand has just taken a turn...she is pregnant. Logan is over the moon! Not only does he have strong feelings for Dana, but he is also excited to be a father! Dana allows Logan to become part of not only her life, but also a significant part of her daughter’s lives, as well.

Without giving anything away, I will say this book does end in a happily-ever-after. The ending certainly put a huge smile on my face. This is an Erin Nicholas book so I was 99% sure how this story would end, but I did not expect it to happen the way it did. I loved it! This is also why I love Erin Nicholas books! The epilogue left me wanting more Dana and Logan.

The narrator was Ryan West. He did a fantastic job! He had just a hint of a Louisiana accent. He kept me engaged in the story, made me feel like I was in the south and was able to do a great job differentiating the character voices.

Checked all the boxes

Not every story is meant to have huge arguments and heartbreak. This story had the purpose of finding that love she deserved and that extra something all women want. It was realistic in the matter of having the hard conversations and learning to coparent. This checks all the boxes I had set out. It’s funny, humbling, charming, realistic in the fact Logan was a normal bartender who had history with women. It wasn’t a billionaire romance with high stakes but sappy and adorable way this story was written really sat with me.

The narrative pointed out that not everyone will disappoint you. It’s okay to lean on other people. It was a nice change to see the male protagonist understanding the love interest was independent and learning how to teach her to love life as it comes and being responsible can be mixed with having a good time. If you start this book with an open mind , you won’t regret it.
