Publisher Description

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in
Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Pronunciation

Book is great, but be you'd think they'd keep the pronunciation of things the same even if the narrators change.

This is a good book…. but

This is a great story and I’ve listened to each and every book up to the 1st Dark Mistress book at least 7 or 8 times each!!! But 1 thing I will agree with these other “negative reviews” even though they definitely worded it incorrectly (or just don’t know what they’re talking about) is that the “reader” (not the author) clearly didn’t care about his job nearly enough to make sure he pronounces the main characters names correctly!?! It’s definitely annoying since it’s the names that are constantly said throughout the whole book!?! But I wouldn’t say the book and “author” is to blame for that! And therefore wouldn’t deserve anything more than to drop at most 1 star because of it!!! And this isn’t 1 of the better books in the whole series!?! And that’s why I would give it 3 out of 5 stars instead of the 4 out of 5 (because the “reader” saying the main characters names incorrectly the whole time)!!! But I don’t think you can skip this book if you still want to finish this series! And it is (in my opinion) a great series!!! It’s just too bad that the 1st and only attempt to turn this story into a show was done by DA that wanted to change almost everything about the books! And therefore by the time they got to Season 2 there was NOTHING they could do to fix the damage to the main story! And THAT is was it was done right there!!! And even that’s not the writers fault (God rest his soul), because he lost full creative control when it came to the show!!!

No way

The author didn’t know enough about the books to say the main characters names correctly. Pretty big bummer. I can’t even listen to it because it feels like he’s talking about new characters
