Jack “Jock” Steele is a best-selling author who suffered a tragedy. His guilt over loosing his girlfriend and baby, caused Jock to distance himself from his family. Daphne Zablonski is a single mother. After what her ex-husband put her through, she is cautious when it comes to love. Daphne was instantly attracted to Jock after meeting him at their friend’s wedding the year before; little did she know he felt the same. When he returns from his travels and stays in a cottage at the resort where Daphne works, it gets harder and harder for them to hide their attraction to another, that is until Hadley, Daphne’s toddler daughter, takes a liking to Jock.

This is a wonderful story about a friendship, love, forgiveness and a determined little girl to help a tortured soul find his way back his family and the man he was before; as well as show a single mother that happily every after really does exist.

This is a good start to this spin off series. Jock and Daphne are two people that are truly damaged. Jock with the tragic loss of his girlfriend and unborn child and Daphne with the abuse and rejection that she suffered from by her ex husband. The pair find healing from their pasts and love for their future with the assistance of Daphne's daughter Hadley. Also, in this book the characters from other series and books make an appearance so that everything is connected. This book was heart breaking at times but with a great ending. At risk of giving away too much, this was a great book that I enjoyed from the start just like all of the other books that Ms. Foster has written. I also enjoyed the narration performed by Jennifer Mack and Brian Pallino. This is the first time that I have listened to the pair and they did a great job bringing this story to life. I would recommend this book to others.

Audiobook Review: I read Tempted by Love before I listened to it. As I read the book, I could hear that tones and voices that Jock would sound like, and I am thrilled that Brian Pallino matched what I had imagined. Brian Pallino, narrator, did an amazing job telling Jock’s story. Jock’s story is full of emotion, heartbreak, and love that I hear in every word that I listened to. Jennifer Mack, narrator, did a perfect job of telling Daphne’s story. Daphne’s strength, love, and loyalty shined through in every word I heard. As always, Melissa Foster found the perfect narrators to tell her story.

eBook Review: Jock has my heart. I knew from the first time I met him that his story would break my heart and bring me to tears and it did. His life has not been easy, and his grief had taken over his life until he met a man that pushed him to move past it while learning to live again. He meets Daphne and sparks fly but he must learn how to open his heart to her little girl before they can move forward. Hadley, Daphne’s daughter, has Jock wrapped around her fingers and Jock knows that his life will not be complete without her in it. He looks at his past, sees what his future could be and does all that has to be done to find his HEA.

Daphne is a single mother who wants the one man who cannot be around her daughter. She is strong enough to know that she cannot put herself before Hadley’s happiness and makes that hard decision to not start a relationship with Jock. Until Jock realizes that he must have both of them and he lets Daphne see how much he is trying and how much he can love them. I love how strong Daphne is. She stays true to herself and Hadley all while opening her heart again to love.

In true Melissa Foster style the story of Jock and Daphne will tug at your heart and make you believe in true love.
