APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A diabolical killer plays cat and mouse with four tough women in this electrifying mystery. Journalist Cindy Thomas’ first book signing for her new true-crime bestseller is going splendidly—aside from the outraged audience member who starts shouting at her. But things turn dark when the body of the heckler is later found and a video of his brutal murder is sent to Detective Lindsay Boxer, alerting her that there’s a serial killer targeting her, Cindy, and their two closest crime-fighting friends. James Patterson and Maxine Paetro truly know what their audience wants, weaving together a fast-paced plot full of devious criminals, high-stakes action, and even an intense courtroom battle. Narrator January LaVoy’s pacing is on point and her range of voices adds incredible depth to the characters. Whether or not you’re already a fan of the long-running Women’s Murder Club series, The 23rd Midnight will make you want to join up.
Customer Reviews
Good, fast pace.
Good book a fast pace. Mediocre ending. I would’ve liked to read something a little more clever.
