Publisher Description
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho continues to change the lives of its readers forever. With more than two million copies sold around the world, The Alchemist has established itself as a modern classic, universally admired.
Paulo Coelho’s masterpiece tells the magical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure as extravagant as any ever found.
The story of the treasures Santiago finds along the way teaches us, as only a few stories can, about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, above all, following our dreams.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Jeremy Irons’ narration is the perfect way to experience Brazilian author Paulo Coelho’s modern classic. His silky voice brings unexpected dimensions to the fable about a young shepherd boy who travels from Brazil to the Egyptian pyramids. Irons’ perfect pacing builds up suspense, making the most of the story's Kipling-like thrills and adventure; he also does a great job highlighting the underlying message of self-actualization. Coelho's healing prose has never sounded so good.

The Alchemist
I was given a copy of this book at the begining of an internship, and it is an amazing novel for such a point in life. It is not a long book, but it is full of good advice. It gives a wonderful perspective on life and obtaining one's pesonal goals, despite what may seem as inconveniences along the way. Paulo Coelho has written a wonderful piece of work about finding our "Personal Legends" as he calls them, and I reccomend it strongly for anyone who is still trying to find what they want out of life as well as anyone who wants a good read.
It's Good If You're The Dreamer Type
This book is one of that of a boy who dares do all to acomplish his dream. The book is very philosophical and motavational and uplifting. It basically teaches us to go for your dream no matter what the cost because the reward will be musch greater than the effort. So if you are the type of person that is looking for this or is into that stuff then this would be a great book for you. If Not don't waste your time.
