My favorite novel of all time.
I have no other novel that I have read as many times as this one. It was my interduction to Michael Crichton who would become one of my favorite authors. When I came across this audio book I was so excited and then to see that one of my favorite actors of all time, David Morse, was reading it made it even more exciting. Morse is a little dry but it fits with this type of scientific novel. You might know him from St. Elsewhere if your old enough. There is another great version read by Chris Noth, but it is an abridged version. I highly recommend this audio book and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have and still do.

Ninety seven hours ten minutes thirty two seconds
I've listened to several Creighton books read. This particular book does not lend itself well to being read aloud. The book is written as a progression of events communicated in a series of military messages. EVERY message is prefaced with a military time stamp! EVERY SINGLE TIME STAMP IS READ ALOUD!! In most sentences, the reading of the time stamp was longer than the meat of the message. After a few hundred times you have to wonder if actually reading each and every single time stamp was a good decision.
