Riveting insight into a controversial man’s life
I wanted to read this book because all I’ve ever known about Malcolm is the propaganda that was given in school/media that he was violent and someone would say harmful to the struggle of black Americans. Reading this book lets you into his heart and his mind giving a completely different perspective. He was incredibly passionate and outspoken for the human rights for Afro-Americans. His experience in his Islamic faith was also very beautiful. It sparked my curiosity into the religion as that has also been shrouded in propaganda lies, and hateful rhetoric. If you’re an American reading this book, be prepared to feel a little uncomfortable at times l, but I encourage you to sit in that and dissect those feelings.
