More story than erotica
The stories were entertaining but some of them just felt like short stories, not erotica. Some stories were funny, mysterious, and detailed. The narrators, for the most part did really good. I just didnt think it was sexual enough to be called erotica, but overall, the stories were good.
To Those Who Think Erotica is Simply Smut…
…this collection of short stories is a wonderful example of how erotica can compete for literary excellence as well as any other genre. As it plays with genre, mixing sci-fi or noir styles with lascivious and salacious stories, this collection exposes you to unique voices and wonderful storytelling. From “Innocence in Extremis,” that explores the exquisite liminality between when one loses emotional innocence and physical innocence, to “Horny,” a story that finds something sexy and heartbreaking in a man punishing himself for being overly sexual, this collection explores sides of sex rarely unearthed in a genre too often content to skim along the surface of smut.
I can't get enough
I didn't know what to expect, but I could not be happier!!! The variety in genre, the way they were read, and all the different situations and characters were better than I could have imagined or hoped for! After listening to this, went and bought more, I just can't get enough!
