Gavin Guile is missing, leaving Kip and his allies to face the White King's horde in the fourth novel of the NYT bestselling Lightbringer series by Brent Week's.
When does an empire fall?
The Seven Satrapies have collapsed into four-and those are falling before the White King's armies.
Gavin Guile, ex-emperor, ex-Prism, ex-galley slave, formerly the one man who might have averted war, is now lost, broken, and trapped in a prison crafted by his own hands to hold a great magical genius. But Gavin has no magic at all. Worse, in this prison, Gavin may not be alone.
Kip Guile will make a last, desperate attempt to stop the White King's growing horde. Karris White attempts to knit together an empire falling apart, helped only by her murderous and possibly treasonous father-in-law Andross Guile.
Meanwhile, Teia's new talents will find a darker use-and the cost might be too much to bear.
Together, they will fight to prevent a tainted empire from becoming something even worse.
Devour this blockbuster epic fantasy series that had Peter V. Brett saying, "Brent Weeks is so good, it's starting to tick me off!"
Customer Reviews
Cant wait to read the series again.
After just finishing the last book of this series I am very sad that it came to end. Just like the night angel trilogy I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The depth of the entire story is one that you can fully immerse yourself in and get lost. I read one review saying the first three books were more enjoyable than the last two. I can agree with this but in the last two books is when everything comes together. That doesn’t go without saying that the last two books were just as amazing than the first three. All of my questions about every question I had was answered. Questions I didn’t know I needed answering were answered. My favorites for characters were constantly changing through the book, it wasn’t until after the acknowledgments of the last book that my favorite was solidified. If you make it that far you’ll understand. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of the night angel trilogy or a fan of fantasy and magic. Thanks again Brent.
Unlike the Others
The Blood Mirror is the weakest link in the series. It’s not as good as the others. A lot of nothing going on. The only story to move along or was interesting was Teia story. Gavin has been reduced to half the man he was. He done nothing for the last two books. I don’t understand the point of his story other to humble him. Kip all of sudden went from a unsure, heat of the moment genius of magic to a genius general tactician and exemplary leader. Plus his and Tsis romance is very annoying. It amazingly they replace Teia in The Mighty. That’s ok because she stands out and above without them. It’s just lame. Overall I liked the book but don’t love it as the first three books.
