The Bluest Eye, published in 1970, is the first novel written by Toni Morrison, winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize in Literature.
It is the story of eleven-year-old Pecola Breedlove -- a black girl in an America whose love for its blond, blue-eyed children can devastate all others -- who prays for her eyes to turn blue: so that she will be beautiful, so that people will look at her, so that her world will be different. This is the story of the nightmare at the heart of her yearning, and the tragedy of its fulfillment.

Two stars only for the fact that the audiobook is read by Toni Morrison herself. Although I can't help but wonder why she would give them her stamp of approval to leave out such important parts of her book. Also, iTunes should label this as an abridged version like it does for most other audiobooks.
not the whole book
i downloaded this book to help me read it and as i followed on with it, i found that it skips major portions of the book. i am very unsatisfied
This audio book is missing parts that even the abridged version should include! This recording is tainted, so would not buy this until it has been fixed. Also, please make this book available on the iBook store. I would love to read this on my wonderfully amazing iPad!
