In the captivating start to a new, darkly lyrical fantasy series, Tea can raise the dead, but resurrection comes at a price.
When Tea accidentally resurrects her brother from the dead, she learns she is different from the other witches in her family. Her gift for necromancy means that she’s a bone witch, a title that makes her feared and ostracized by her community. But Tea finds solace and guidance with an older, wiser bone witch, who takes Tea and her brother to another land for training.
In her new home, Tea puts all her energy into becoming an asha-one who can wield elemental magic. But dark forces are approaching quickly, and in the face of danger, Tea will have to overcome her obstacles and make a powerful choice.

a great series
i love love this book. i am so picky about books but the way she writes, i absolutely love her writing style and this series!
When I first started reading this book, I did like it but it was a slow process due to school and excessive amounts of homework. Later on, I decided, "I still remember everything perfectly clear, so I should finish the book." Then I did so. I fell in love with the book in the few days that i finished it. It was extraordinarily written and I loved how i could get a sense of wisdom around the corner. My favourite characters are Fox and Likh. I loved Fox because he reminded me of my honorary brother; Likh because he reminded me of myself. I also loved the well-known and feared daeva. When I finished reading the book, I was more than happy to know i wouldn't be stuck on a cliffhanger for 3-or-so months: I had bought the next book and it was sitting right beside me.
