What a story
This book took me to a place, meeting 4 generations of a family. Their lives, their decisions, their loves, their failures. At the end of the audiobook, I wept.
Not Foley's best effort
I love Lucy Foley's thrillers. This book while not a thriller was not her best work. There were chapters that rambled on with information that just wasn't needed and left the reader wondering what was the point and when would we get back to the heart of the story. And lastly, the ending was less than satisfying. It felt as if Foley was tired with the story and cut it short. I'm not asking for a happy ending but the conclusion was abbreviated and left the reader in limbo. The parts of the book that were good were very good and that's why it was so disappointing.
