In a cabin in a wood,
A woman by the window stood.

Glancing out, she thought she heard
Footsteps, whistling, something stirred.

Hiding here, she fears the night,
For what’s done in the dark will come to light.

She must run fast to escape her lie
Or she’ll be the next to die…

The unmissable new thriller from the USA Today bestselling master of edge-of-your-seat reading and screenwriter of Netflix Original movie, The Weekend Away.

Filled with Suspense and Thrill!

This book was AMAZING! I never knew what to expect next and the woman who read it had so much emotion. 10/10 recommend.

Very Disappointing

What happened??? “The Stalker” is one of the best books I’ve ever read.
I spent two full nights binge listening that book. It was utter perfection and incredibly unique and creepy.
This book is lacking in every conceivable way, I am about 7 chapters in and truly don’t believe that I’ll be able to finish it.
There is literally no descriptive language, there is no “setting of the scene”
It reads like a Lifetime movie, flat, weak, and very poorly developed characters.
This protagonist is not interesting because she lacks depth in every way.
And this whole “rags to riches+murder mystery” trope is so totally exhausting, predictable, and played out (and done much better so many times before by other authors)that I just wanted to cry when I realized that this was actually the road we were going down here.
I’ve never been so disappointed.
This book is advertised and described as a creepy cabin in the woods thriller and it is none of these things.
It’s been a really long time since I was so let down by an author I love (d)
Instead, what we have here is a soft core soap opera played by bad actors as “characters”
These are not characters, they are 2 D stereotypes.
And one more thing, how insulting to read yet another “poor waitress rescued by a successful man in the big city” only to realize all this comes with a price like a fairytale involving glass slippers and carriages that turn into pumpkins.
Please SA don’t do this again.
I was so fooled by all the probably paid for netgalley reviews only to kick myself for actually believing people were being sincere.
This is awful so far, maybe there will be a miracle if I can get through the rest of this extremely shallow book.
But I bet that won’t happen, sadly.
