Along the gritty terrain of the Texas- Mexico border, a respected and recently engaged lawyer throws his stakes into a cocaine trade worth millions. His hope is that it will be a one-time deal and that, afterward, he can settle into life with his beloved fiancee. The only McCarthy Audiobook to skip
I love Cormac McCarthy… I know the date I read The Road for the first time and have divided my life into Before and After I read it. I’ve cried every time I’ve read the final paragraph of Stella Maris… and I’ve made passages from The Sunset Limited part of my regular speech but The Councilor just didn’t work for me. And it’s not McCarthy, it’s the narrator.
Since the story is in screenplay format, each line is preceded by the name of the character who is speaking… and the narrator actually reads it each time.
You’re simply taken out of the story with each line read.
