It all comes down to this final confrontation – the Emperor versus the Warmaster. The father versus the son. After 63 novels and a slew of short stories, omnibuses, audio dramas, and more – this is the End and the Death.
LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
The Horus Heresy series reaches its dramatic climax. After years of civil war, the Emperor and Horus clash aboard the Vengeful Spirit in an epic battle of blades, wits, and wills. See how the greatest conflict of the age plays out, and follow fan-favourite characters from across the saga as they desperately try to influence the outcome.
THE STORY
The Great Angel, Sanguinius, lies slain at his brother's hand. Terra burns as reality itself unravels, and the greatest bastion of civilisation teeters on the brink of annihilation.
Desperate defenders gather, banding against the rabid traitor hordes. The Hollow Mountain, host to the pilgrims of Euphrati Keeler, is one of the last redoubts held by the Dark Angels while the unclean host of Typhus lays siege. Malcador the Sigillite sits ablaze on the Golden Throne, trying to buy his master more time. But time is running out...
Guilliman races across the stars to reinforce the Throneworld. Will he return to ashes, where a Warmaster of Chaos has ascended to godhood, or will the Emperor have triumphed? And at what cost?
Customer Reviews
Exceptional and unforgettable
I fell in love with warhammer reading Dan Abnett”s Horus rising many years ago when I was in high school. Since then feverishly tearing into nearly every released 30,000 novel, Abnetts work was always the gold standard. His books such as the unremembered empire and Know no fear are novels that I still continue to read over and over again many years later .
That being said I had sky high expectations for the final end of the series. Abnetts The End And The Death lll surpassed them all. Not only is the narrator exceptionally talented, voicing expertly people from Horus to Malcador. Abnett is able to weave narratives nearly twenty years in the making from his earlier works Horus rising and satisfyingly conclude them. If you ever see this Dan know that you did an outstanding job, and thank you this without a doubt is your greatest work yet.
Boom!
Awesome writing. Awesome narrating. A superb culmination to an epic series.
The Reflection Cracked
Before the Horus Heresy, we had a legendary story of a God-Emperor with superhuman achievments and heroism, with blind spots and flaws to match. Now at the end, we have a dude named Neoth engaged with a domestic dispute with his wife over how he chose to raise their children.
Worst of all, the responsibility for the main failure in losing the primarchs is transfered to a woman who had a bad day.
I lack the words to describe the company which has done such a massive disservice to their once-fans as well as their own IP.
