Eye of the World
If you enjoy listening to a Gleeman, a story teller, get the audiobook version read by Rosamund Pike. You’ll feel every emotion; the joy, the fear, the love, the anger, the laughter, and the sadness. The voices and inflections make you feel like you’re right in the middle of the group and the action.
My only complaint is that Ms. Pike is not narrating the other books in The Wheel of Time series. I’m listening to the second book and the narration is just like someone sitting on my sofa reading a book. It’s not the story telling. It’s not the adventure I felt listening to the Eye of the World.
Captivating and amazing storytelling
Rosamund Pike is the best narrator I have ever listened to. Amazing story that you can’t get enough of!
Voice acting, not reading
Pike gives a performance. She’s not simply reading. The inflection, emphasis, pain, and joy that the characters experience really comes through.
