Now in audiobook, the phenomenal #1 New York Times bestseller with more than six million copies in print.
Eddie is a wounded war veteran, an old man who has lived, in his mind, an uninspired life. His job is fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakes in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a destination. It's a place where your life is explained to you by five people, some of whom you knew, others who may have been strangers. One by one, from childhood to soldier to old age, Eddie's five people revisit their connections to him on earth, illuminating the mysteries of his "meaningless" life, and revealing the haunting secret behind the eternal question: "Why was I here?"

Worth a read
4-stars from me, but that doesn't mean it won't be a 5-star book for others. Worth the time to find out.
I absolutely loved this book!! It left chills when I was done! If you like a good story, you should read this book, because its wonderful! And I would recommend it to anyone!
The story was very entertaining. It held my attention well. The characters accents weren't done expertly but they were tolerable. The dialogue done in a whispered voice I found to be a bit annoying but there wasn't too much of that. The author interview at the end was entertaining as well even though I generally find that type of thing boring.
