The remarkable audio edition of C.S. Lewis' beloved classic is the only existing recording of Lewis reading his own work. With penetrating logic and winsome wit, he explores the four aspects of love: storge (affection), philia (friendship), eros (sexual love) and agape (selfless love). Lewis exposes the pitfalls in our loves, leading us to the agape love that God has for men and women and the kind we must develop to nurture our relationships.

Sorry, I love CSL but this is too hard to hear since it was recorded from a cassette. I can't handle this for 2+ hours.
Although the sound quality is somewhat variable (understandable given that this is an old recording based on older technology), I found both the book and the recording to be gripping. It was great simply to hear C. S. Lewis' actual voice after having read him for so many years, especially him reading his own book. His intention really gets through better that way. Strongly recommended; great book and good recording.
In English the language is limited. Lewis adds depth and definition as he examins the four works in Greek for "love". His chapter on "friendship" is one of the best I have ever read on the subject. Love is what makes life meaningful. The book has enriched my understanding of love and life.
