Publisher Description
The Fourth Mind is the first book ever to explore the anatomy, brains, genetics, beliefs and capabilities of the unknown entities the author refers to as "the visitors." He maintains that they have a set of abilities he describes as a "fourth mind" that include such powers as telepathy, levitation, the ability to move heavy objects without machinery, and many others.
He then shows that there is a rich store of evidence that mankind once possessed these same powers, and that hidden knowledge of them has persisted into the 20th century.
To explore why we lost them and how we can regain them, he takes a dive into the chaotic end of the last ice age when mass extinctions devastated the planet and mankind endured a catastrophe so terrible that it has buried by traumatic amnesia. He shows how it resulted in our loss of these powers, and describes how a forgotten event involving our visitors that took place in 1996 in Brazil holds the key to our recovery of them.
There has never been another book like The Fourth Mind. It marks the beginning of a new way of thinking about who and what we are, and points toward the re-empowerment of mankind as a truly cosmic species.

The Fourth Mind
I have been reading Whitley’s written work for (I think?) forty years, and have been moved, terrified, enheartened and inspired by his words…The Fourth Mind has again brought me to all of these places while also giving me a lifetime’s worth of historical, scientific and philosophical data and challenges upon which to ponder and evolve.
Thank you, Whitley, for what you do and for what you share with us; our lives are changed for the better 🙏🏼
A Powerful, Honest Voice in a World That’s Finally Ready to Listen!
Whitley Strieber has always stood out to me as one of the most authentic voices in a field that was, for so long, mocked and dismissed. The Fourth Mind is yet another example of his courageous honesty and brilliant insight. What makes this book so special isn’t just the new knowledge it offers about intergalactic species—although that alone is fascinating—it’s the wisdom and vulnerability behind the words.
I’ve always admired Whitley not only as an author and researcher but as a human being. Years ago, people who spoke of alien abductions were ridiculed, often ostracized, and sometimes even denied legitimate work. But Whitley never gave up. He continued to share his story despite the backlash, and his willingness to be open in the face of such harsh skepticism makes him extraordinary in my eyes. Thank God the literary world and Hollywood respected his gifts as an esteemed writer!
Listening to him narrate his own audiobooks, including this one, adds another layer of depth. His voice carries the emotion and sincerity that only someone who lived these experiences could deliver. I own many of his books in both audio and hardcover formats, and I treasure them all. This book, however, offers something even more valuable—an expansion of the conversation beyond personal encounters, into a broader understanding of these beings and what they may represent.
For those of us who have long believed in something greater and feel a calling to understand it, The Fourth Mind is a gift. It reminds us that if contact is to happen, we must be ready—not just intellectually, but emotionally and spiritually. These beings are more than just “non-human.” They are life. And as Whitley so beautifully conveys, all life deserves kindness, respect, and compassion.
Thank you, Whitley, for continuing to share, to teach, and to inspire. I’m grateful for you for recording your audiobook! It makes a world of difference hearing you tell your story!😊
