Grammy Award Nominee for Best Spoken Word Album!

Ellen DeGeneres published her first book of comic essays, the #1 bestselling My Point...and I Do Have One, way back in 1996. Not one to rest on her laurels, the witty star of stage and screen has since dedicated her life to writing a hilarious new book. That book is this audiobook.

After years of painstaking, round-the-clock research, surviving on a mere twenty minutes of sleep a night, and collaborating with lexicographers, plumbers, and mathematicians, DeGeneres has crafted a work that is both easy on the ears and very funny. Along with her trademark ramblings, The Funny Thing Is...contains hundreds of succinct insights into her psyche, and offers innovative features including:

• More than 50,000 simple, short words arranged in sentences that form paragraphs.

• Thousands of observations on everyday life -- from terrible fashion trends to how to handle seating arrangements for a Sunday brunch with Paula Abdul, Diane Sawyer, and Eminem.

• All twenty-six letters of the alphabet read aloud.

Sure to make you laugh, The Funny Thing Is...is Ellen in top form.

A-Dave ,

The thing is...

that not many things any more make me laugh out loud. It's sad, but many comedic movies, etc., only make me giggle on the inside these days. But last Friday we went to some faraway restaurant for my grandmother's birthday and I decided to listen to my new Audiobook on the trip. By the time "The Breakfast Brunch" came around my family had to tell me to turn it off because I was laughing too much. They must have thought I was crazy seeing as no one else in the car was saying anything remotely funny. But if they could have heard Ellen DeGeneres read her book out loud they would be laughing as well.
This is the perfect audiobook to buy if you want a fast way to kill time in a very enjoyable way. The hours flew by because I was enjoying myself more than I ever did listening to my summer reading books in High School. I now want to go out and spend even more money to get the actual book because it is just that good.
Three thumbs way, way up. Please don't ask about the other thumb; I stole it.

Hilariously Fun....Well Maybe?

Ellen's book is extraordinarily funny in some respects. Her usual witty remarks and awkward phrasing makes the book the one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Its a great book to listen to on one's down time. I however wouldn't recommend trying to listen to it all the way through without some breaks. The jokes she uses can be heard in her standup and the way they recorded it makes the way she speaks sound a little funny.

If you want some laughs go ahead and try it for yourself.

I walked down the street while listening to this and people probably thought I was crazy.I couldn't help but laugh at the millions of jokes Degeneres has crammed into a compact audiobook! I've seen the actual book, but it is so much funnier when Ellen reads it. So even though you already may have this book, get the audiobook so you can laugh more hysterically than you already did.
