Publisher Description

September is a girl who longs for adventure. When she is invited to Fairyland by a Green Wind and a Leopard, well, of course she accepts. (Mightn’t you?) But Fairyland is in turmoil, and it will take one 12-year-old girl, a book-loving dragon, and a strange and almost human boy named Saturday to vanquish an evil Marquess and restore order.

WhenDoesItWork ,

A Fairytale: Good, true, spectacular, complex, beautiful, harrowing, stunning.

Don't let "Fairy Tale" mislead you. There's nothing "fluffy" about this story! It is as solid and chilling as any good adventure tale. It IS an adventure tale. You will not be sorry if you listened to (or read) this astonishingly beautiful, mesmerizing story! It is definitely a new Classic.

At the risk of of simply producing another list of adjectives (gorgeous, nail-biting, intrigueing, engrossing), I will now talk about the reader's voice instead.

The author is the reader of this book. At first, I thought her voice is not right for this kind of material. But by the end of the second chapter, I could no longer imagine anyone else EVER reading this story! Perhaps she "found her voice" in the reading, or perhaps I just got used to her. Either way, listening to her rendition of her OWN material was a complete and total pleasure that I hope to repeat many times in years to come.
