Publisher Description

Mikael Blomkvist, crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden, implicating well-known and highly placed members of Swedish society, business, and government.

But he has no idea just how explosive the story will be until, on the eve of publication, the two investigating reporters are murdered. And even more shocking for Blomkvist: the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to Lisbeth Salander—the troubled, wise-beyond-her-years genius hacker who came to his aid in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and who now becomes the focus and fierce heart of The Girl Who Played with Fire.

As Blomkvist, alone in his belief in Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation of the slayings, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous hunt in which she is the prey, and which compels her to revisit her dark past in an effort to settle with it once and for all.

the girl who played with fire

A friend of mine keeps the characters straight by mentally casting them. Her Blumquist is Russell Crowe, Armansky is Danny DiVito. This book is as much fun as the first. Impossible to stop reading (or listening). Simon Vance does a marvelous job reading.

Comparred to other 4 star ratings, this is definitely a 5 star

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is highly my recommendation in listening or reading first. The audio reader is bar none. The language use is exceptional and the literary style to please most any unpretentious intellect. Involves Stockholm, Swedish underground crime of sex-trade, drugs, fantastic character developments. Coldness becomes most endearing.

An Excellent AudioBook

I have not previously heard of Stieg Larrson. His books were recommended to me by a friend. I opted for the audiobooks and I was not disappointed. Between the elegant plot and character development and the audio presentation, I could not stop until I had finished both The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the The Girl Who Play with Fire. I have not been that engrossed in a story line for a long time. My only criticism is that I will not be able to pick the story back up until next year. I pass on the recommendation of my friend to others who enjoy a good story.
