It tells the story of Alice Wright, who trades in her stuffy life in 1930s England to marry the strapping, square-jawed American Bennett Van Cleve. Once settled in the Great Depression–wracked town of Baileyville, Kentucky, Alice finds new purpose when she joins a traveling troupe of women who saddle up to deliver books to people across the beautiful-but-treacherous Appalachian mountains. Best-selling author Jojo Moyes follows up her Me Before You trilogy with this inspiring story of female independence. Enjoyable!
This book taught me that it’s OK to enjoy a book without it being gob smackingly amazing- I just enjoyed it! The writing was great, the story was engaging. Was it the best book I’ve ever read, no. But it was a good one!

This book was one of the best books I’d listened to in a very long time. I found it very informative, well researched and narrated.

I really enjoyed this read!
It was a little slow at first but by chapter 3 it already had me hooked!
I listened to chapter 25- end on a road trip with my husband and he was really invested 😅
