Vincent is a bartender at the Hotel Caiette, a five-star lodging on the northernmost tip of Vancouver Island. On the night she meets Jonathan Alkaitis, a hooded figure scrawls a message on the lobby's glass wall: Why don’t you swallow broken glass. High above Manhattan, a greater crime is committed: Alkaitis's billion-dollar business is really nothing more than a game of smoke and mirrors. When his scheme collapses, it obliterates countless fortunes and devastates lives. Vincent, who had been posing as Jonathan’s wife, walks away into the night. Years later, a victim of the fraud is hired to investigate a strange occurrence: a woman has seemingly vanished from the deck of a container ship between ports of call.

This story strummed on my heart strings

I heard Kanye west say in a podcast that relationships are the most valuable from of currency life has to offer. This story for me grab that meaning in the most tragic and yet beautiful way. I believed music was the most influential/touching way to deliver a message, after reading this I see I was wrong. It’s authors like this that come up with a story that truly can be counseling for the soul. Never heard of this author before this book and how some of my relationship with my family was going I see now why something kept pulling at me to listen..Simply moving.

The Glass Hotel

I was truly disappointed with this purchase after having experienced some of Ms Mandel’s other works. It struck me as one long whiny depressive remembering of a cast of dark sociopathic narcissistic fringe millennials
