Fourth generation fundamentalist Bishop Carlton Pearson takes a courageous and controversial stand that calls for an end to divisions along religious lines. The Gospel of Inclusion explores the evidence of the Bible and concludes that the exclusionary doctrines in mainstream religion cannot be true. Bishop Pearson argues that the controlling dogmas of religion are the source of much of the world's ills, and that we should turn our backs on proselytizing and holy wars and focus on the real good news: that we are all bound for glory, everybody is saved, and if we believe God loves all mankind, then we have no choice but to have the same attitude ourselves.

The Gospel of Inclusion also tells the story of a powerful religious figure who watched everything he had crumble due to scandal. Why? He didn't steal money nor did he have inappropriate sexual relationships. Following a revelation from God, he began to preach that God belongs to no religion and that a loving God would not condemn most of the human race to Hell because they are not Christian. The Gospel of Inclusion is the journey of one man's quest to preach a new truth.

A True Messenger from God!

I am a seminary trained student pastor seeking ordination. And I can truly say that if you read the Bible from start to finish, and meditate on the content of scripture you will see that the Bible is a Gospel of Inclusion. Think about it, throughout scripture, God's chosen start with a group of people the Jews, and extend to ALL people. People who were formerly excluded from the temple of God were now included, the Ethiopian Eunuch in the book of Acts and Cornelius. Unfortunately many sects of Christianity have perverted the true mission of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. A good scriptural reference that God's door is always open is Jesus' parable of "The Prodigal Son." Regardless of what the son had done, and when he decided to come home, the door was always open, and the father rejoiced at the return of his son. So many churches have blood on their hands. They have engagged in sexual abuse, extortion, and wounded God's beloved people through institutional practices of sexism, racism, and homophobia. The basis of many Christian fundementalist theology is that Christianity is not Christianity unless you hate someone. But clearly that is NOT the message of the Savior Jesus Christ who came to heal the sick, clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and welcome the outcast, downtrodden, and marginalized. I pray more folks who claim to be "Christian" would read this book. There is much healing in the church that needs to take place.

whats the big deal??

this man did not start his own religion. its CHRISTIANITY. you know, that religion that we all claim to be apart of. the one where christ's love is supposed to be unconditional yet followers of christ have managed to be the most judgemental, mean, and exclusive group of people on this earth and have been the cause of countlelss numbers of people to be driven away from the religion and its people. Look all he's doing is trying to bring people's main focus back the whole point of christianity; the center of the religion that somehow has gotten lost over years and years and years of reading and mis-understanding text. like he has said, if he's wrong the atleast he'll be guilty of preaching God's love; its not necessarily all about being right all the time, but being real, and if this is what he believes is real then that's him,no one ever said that they had to agree. he's just suggesting that we re-think what we're doing and saying to the world. so what's the big deal??
