Publisher Description
In the winter of 1945, in Upper Egypt, an Arab peasant discovered a large vessel. Inside were scrolls containing a hitherto unseen book. One of these books was the Gospel of Thomas. Here before you is the translation of that book. This is the contemporary translation of the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas with Greek and Coptic verses. Included are Bible parallels and commentary placed within the flow of the text to explain and expand these amazing verses.
Customer Reviews
Clear and Concise
This book begins with a brief history of how the gospel of Thomas was rediscovered. The book goes on to read the verses of Thomas, and where applicable also read parallel verses from the four canonical gospels. There is a brief summary interpretation at the end of the work.
The work is clear and concise, and perhaps best of all it does not contain wink the interpretations from the author about the verses, in the gospel of Thomas. (Such interpretations in other works very widely in their understandings.)
If you are just looking for the gospel of Thomas and have an interest in how it compares to the four canonical gospels, this is the book you’re looking for.
