The Great Brain is Tom D. Fitzgerald, aged ten. The story is told by J.D., a sometimes confounded but always admiring younger brother. Such people as Mr. Standish, the mean schoolmaster, regret the day they came up against The Great Brain. But others, like the Jensen kids lost in Skeleton Cave, Basil, the Greek kid, or Andy, who has lost his leg and his friends, know that Tom's great brain never fails to find a way home.
Love the series.
I love the Great Brain Series. Used to listen to them as a kid when my dad got the books on tape. Though a new narrated reads in this audio version, it is just as good. My kids love them, and I enjoy listening as well.
Makes the long trips very enjoyable.
This Book is one of the Greatest EVER!
There is a whole series, with 8 books in it. I own all the books, and my favorite is the 6th. These books are about a really smart boy in the 1890s, narrated by his brother. They live in Utah, and the Uncle is the Marshal in their town. Because of that they often come across outlaws, and other dangers. The Great Brain (Tom) always manages to get things he wants. He says he is just using his brain to get things he wants, but the other kids say he is swindling them. Although iTunes only has one of these books, you should definitely get this book.
