The Grumpy Billionaire: A grumpy-sunshine romantic comedy

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

This fabulous romantic comedy had me hooked right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire book. This is the eighth book of Annika Martin’s “Billionaires of Manhattan” series and my first, I had no problems jumping in the series without having read or listened to the earlier books, the story stands completely on its own. Stella Woodward was all set to start her dream job in New York City, even found a place to live, only to find out the day before she was starting her job the offer gets rescinded, with no explanation given. So she had to scramble to find a job to pay her share of the rent or she will have to hightail it back home. Her mother buds in and the next thing she knows, she has a job offer at her brother Charlie’s best friend’s company. Not the job she was looking for, but one that will pay the bills, despite not being entirely familiar with the workload, she is quick to adapt and wing it. Her brother tells her to stay away from his friend Hugo Jones and to not acknowledge him, an odd request, but she will respect his wishes. Billionaire Hugo Jones is a known grump to all that work for him, a nerd on the eccentric side and a perfectionist. He has a brilliant mind with it comes to math, analysis and creating formulas and solving equations. He is working on an important project and the last thing he needs in his life is a distraction like his best friend’s little sister, Stella, but that does not stop him from wanting her there. Stella is the complete opposite of Hugo, but that did not stop her from crushing on him when she was younger or even now, even though he infuriates her. Holy cheese balls, these two were something else, great together and for each other, despite neither was realizing it. I loved how everything played out in this grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, brother’s best friend romance, the story has the perfect balance of drama, just a touch of angst, charming humor, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. Annika Martin, thank you for this wonderfully entertaining and delightful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Angelina Rocca and Owen Grayson do a fabulous job bringing these characters to life and have a complete understanding of who they are portraying, giving each a voice that is fitting. I love how they take each role and make their own sounding believable and just as I imagine the characters to sound. Rocca nailed it as Stella, grasping every aspect of her personality, including all her strengths and determination. Grayson was just as amazing as Hugo Jones, a perfect grumpy swoon worthy nerd. They handled the witty dialogue effortlessly, landing the humor naturally and with ease. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the character’s emotions and have you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
