First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2018, the series is written and directed by Dirk Maggs and based on And Another Thing… by Eoin Colfer with additional unpublished material by Douglas Adams. This edition also includes over 50 minutes of unbroadcast bonus material.

Just not the same.
This book is a good attempt to end the Hitchhikers Guide the Galaxy series on a better note. From my understanding, Douglas Adams regretted the way book 5 “Mostly Harmless” ended. Years after Douglas Adams passing, some professional IT guys were finally able to beat Douglas Adams security on his Apple computer. The hard drive contained notes and partially written chapters for a new Dirk Gently
book. According to an interview give by Adams before his death, he talks about these notes he has written and perhaps what he was writing was better suited for H2G2 rather than Dirk Gently. Sadly, Douglas Adams died in California 11th of May 2001 while work on the preproduction film version of Hitchhikers Guide. Author Eoin Coffer was somehow given permission to use what information was on Douglas Adams’ hard drive to write “And Another Thing”. I understand and totally get why the family and friends of the Late Douglas Adams would give permission to try and give the H2G2 series a better ending. But it’s just not Douglas Adams. No mater how many words, phrases and sentences you reuse from past books written by Douglas Adams, it will never be the same.
Caution, if you are a huge H2G2 fan, this book might leave you with some regrets.
I hope and pray Douglas Adams’ family all the best in the world and even though I never met him, I will forever be one of his greatest fans.
