Publisher Description
Returning to Russia from a sanitarium in Switzerland, the Christ-like epileptic Prince Myshkin finds himself enmeshed in a tangle of love, torn between two women—the notorious kept woman Nastasya and the pure Aglaia—both involved, in turn, with the corrupt, money-hungry Ganya. In the end, Myshkin's honesty, goodness, and integrity are shown to be unequal to the moral emptiness of those around him. In her revision of the Garnett translation, Anna Brailovsky has corrected inaccuracies wrought by Garnett's drastic anglicization of the novel, restoring as much as possible the syntactical structure of the original story.

Voice changes
If you chose this book it is not because you chose it on accident. You’re probably committed and want to read it. The only issue I had listening is the three readers of the book.
I enjoyed the first reader. However,
around 70% into the book the voice changes for the 1st time. This 2nd reader is a little harder to understand which will throw off your experience. We all know at this point no one is going to stop listening after investing all this time. My advice: Hold strong.
Around the 80% mark of completion the narrator changes a 2nd time who is more engaged and easy to listen to.
For the price it’s still a good buy.

5 star story 2 star narration
Horrific narration
Obviously narrators change at some point in a book which is narrated by three different narrators, anyone who fails to grasp this concept is beyond understanding. However, the second narrator is (thus far), immeasurably bad! First, the second narrator is not one of the males listed in the description, and I know this because the second narrator is a female. Second, I would sooner listen to nails on a chalkboard than to her. Third, she must have learned English through a cut rate mail correspondence because her pronunciation is the only thing worse than her auctioneer-like speed reading voice. This is an example of the importance of buying ANY other book than this version.
