Let’s face it, most of us only have the vaguest idea why we humans do what we do. Thankfully, Robert Greene—the author behind the best-selling 48 Laws of Power—is here to give us some answers. He homes in on a handful of the most prevalent and confounding human behaviors, including grandiosity, conformity, and aggression, digging into the fascinating root causes buried in our psyches. Even more helpfully, Greene describes how you can learn to recognize, deal with, and even shut down these behaviors in yourself and others in order to build more empathy and improve your life. Want to avoid toxic relationships? His section on the narcissistic spectrum is particularly illuminating. Greene reads the introduction himself before handing things off to seasoned narrator Paul Michael, whose matter-of-fact cadence really held our attention. Learning the secrets of human behavior can take a lifetime, but The Laws of Human Nature is a useful shortcut.

I found a sense of relief and understanding of life and it’s troubles.
To let go of worries and achieve an insight in life is what I was looking for. And this book has helped me align my anger and confusion that I was gathering throughout it. I’m glad and thankful for everybody that has had a hand in the making of it.

The guy narrating sounds like he’s been sedated.
I like the book great read (excellent work), but the guy narrating sounds like he’s been sedated.😑
His voice is quite “droney” and could put meth addict to sleep.
I often buy both the book and audio version of books, I’ve purchased the digital version of this one but I’ll pass on its audio iteration. I will reconsider purchasing the audio version if this voice over professional is replaced with someone else more pleasant to listen to.
