When New York society beauty Madeline Hammond buys a ranch near the turbulent Mexican frontier, she gets more than she bargained for including a bloody revolution and the ravages of a bandit raid. Additionally, she is abducted by Mexican guerillas and finally rescued by Gene Stewart, the daring and legendary El Capitan, with whom she falls in love. Then when the tables are turned, and Stewart becomes the captive and is sentenced to death by the bandits, Madeline and her vaqueros ride into the lawless wilds of Mexico in a desperate bid to save his life.
Customer Reviews
Great book but the narration is bad.
Light of the Western Stars is one of Zane Grey’s best but this version of the audiobook isn’t pleasant listening. The reader speaks in a sharp and aggressive tone and seems to be trying too hard at getting into character and it’s annoying to listen to.
