Publisher Description
Some doors are locked for a reason . . .
While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.
Until the day the police arrived at their front door.
Decades later, Nora's father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.
Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.
Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she's not a killer like her father. The police can't pin anything on her.
As long as they don't look in her basement.

Glad I didn’t go Audiobook route
I read this, def did not go audio route based on reviews. I see how that could make a big difference. It’s just the kinda twisty read I like. I would like to venture to find more of this genre with a different core setting tho - it feels like every read is a basement or a creepy island with no access or maybe an attic. More creativity, but keeping it also [somewhat] feasible. It’s well written, easy to read and I had too many suspects rounding the end, so I thought it set up some options for me to ponder over. Not her bestest work, but the storyline was strong.
big reveal felt rushed
it could’ve been an easy 5 stars if it wasn’t for the big reveal. it felt rushed and uninspired.
other than that, the plot overall was good and kept me in suspense. lots of red herrings that kept me guessing. I just can’t get over that big real.
Story line is good but,
Liked the story. It had a surprise ending. Did not enjoy the narrator at all! It was difficult to listen to the whole book with her. Sorry, but it was bad!!!
