Publisher Description
Narnia . . . a land frozen in eternal winter . . . a country waiting to be set free
Witness the creation of a magical land in The Magician's Nephew, the first title in C. S. Lewis's classic fantasy series, which has captivated readers of all ages for over sixty years.
On a daring quest to save a life, two friends are hurled into another world, where an evil sorceress seeks to enslave them. But then the lion Aslan's song weaves itself into the fabric of a new land, a land that will be known as Narnia. And in Narnia, all things are possible.
This is a stand-alone novel, but if you want to journey back to Narnia, read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the second book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Wonderful
This book is an incredible novel that is symbolic to the extreme. The syntax of the novel is incredible; likewise, the audio book only enhances the experience of the book and adds to the dramatic effect. I have read these books many times, and now, as I have listened to it this time, I have gotten more out of it.
First Narnia Read
I got this as a $4.99 audio book. I am hooked and can’t wait to read the others!
Fabulous! A joy to listen to
I just finished listening to Kenneth Branagh’s recording of The Magician’s Nephew, which has always been my favorite book in the Narnia series. It’s a wonderful rendition that conveys both the humor and the seriousness of the book. The parts about Uncle Andrew and the Talking Beasts actually made me laugh out loud. I look forward to listening to other books in the series. The publisher made a genius move in rounding up such talented, respected British actors to read the books.
P.S. I’m not sure why the She-Elephant should have a Scottish accent, but what the heck, I embrace it!
