This is a beautifully written Science Fiction novel of a humanoid alien trying to survive on Earth. It was well adapted to a film starring David Bowie.
The Great Walter Tevis
He wrote The Hustler. And this one. One of the great neglected writers of his time. You can swallow the books whole they are so readable. Try Mockingbird and The Steps of the Sun if you like this one. Kind of explains deeper the weirdness of the movie version but the movie did a good service to this book. YOu will love this book!!!!
