The Materialist Basis of Education (Unabridged‪)‬

Lena Morrow Lewis claims that the new industrial processes that the capitalist system gave the world required the education and training of the workers, in order that they might be efficient wealth producers. Throughout the essay, she repeats the slogan, "Knowledge is power". She concludes that only in so far as the workers have knowledge and intelligence can they solve the problem of their own political and industrial freedom.
