Publisher Description
Charity Evans wants nothing more than to leave her troubled past behind and start afresh. The teacher at a London school for orphans is encouraged to have her memories blocked by hypnotist Samuel Gladstone, but when they experience visions with an unknown third person, they realize the past can never be truly erased. And now that past is returning to haunt Charity all over again.
Samuel is determined to help her, but how can a woman who trusts no man trust a hypnotist? And what dark secrets changed the charming gentleman into a desperate man who’ll do anything to keep those secrets buried?

Terrible Narrator
The narrator, Kasey Logan, has a ridiculous and distracting voice with inflection more suited to Paddington Bear than anything written by C.J. Archer. Her peculiar and unpleasant inflection seem as if she’s never had, or heard, a conversation or perhaps she was subjected to an endless loop of Mr Rogers’ “King Friday XIII” early in life.
I was sure the content would eventually come to the forefront but there’s just nothing to be done, her voice is insufferable.
I will make a note to avoid other audiobooks narrated by Kasey Logan. After posting this review I’m deleting this and the rest of the trilogy. She really is that bad.
