Publisher Description
Victoria Jones was a lousy liar. Not that the sensible bookkeeper was accustomed to lying - or anything else that would have disrupted her safe, dull existence. But her world took a terrifying turn when her twin brother, Alex, an agent for T-FLAC, the elite antiterrorist task force, went missing.
Now she'll do anything to find him...lie, cheat, even subject herself to the predatory advances of Alex's T-FLAC partner, Marc Savin, if it will help get her brother home safe.
But trusting the sexy, brooding operative might just be the risk of a lifetime.
The Mercenary is back and better than ever!

Hard to like this book
I really tried to like this audiobook. The premise is good; mercenary and inexperienced woman try to save woman's brother, who has been captured by terrorists. The story is beautifully read by an excellent reader. The trouble was that the mercenary is a little too unsympathetic and unkind and the woman is too repressed and too much of a wimp to capture the listener's sympathies, much less for any chemistry between the two characters to be believable. Be prepared to spend a great deal of time listening to the female whine and cry. Basically, I just couldn't like the characters enough to care about them.
Start of TFlac
I love Cherry Adairs books and the T-Flac series is one of my personal fav. The audio verson is well read and this story sets the ground work for what has become Cherry's signature voice. Fast paced story, sassy characters in heart stopping situations. For a breakout novel this is a great book. It is classic HQN romance driven plot, not like her later work where they are more character driven and plot driven. It stands above many of the HQN books I have recieved lately, even though it was written years ago.
Worth the cost to read the emergence of a romance author.
definately written by a female romance novelist
This book was too much of a cheesy romance novel.
