It IS abridged
The acting is good, but I have to disagree with the previous review - it IS abridged. Various sentences within longer monologues are simply skipped over, as are nearly an entire page of dialogue in the first scene alone. I’m an English teacher and I was hoping to use this as a teaching tool but definitely can’t due to the inconsistencies.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!
If you’re looking for a good, reliable, and highly enjoyable adaption of The Merchant of Venice — this is it! The acting is superb, the dramatization is near perfection — I really fell in love with the characters due to the excellent way in which they were portrayed.
Also, I want to note: This version is unabridged with the exception of one extremely short scene between Lorenzo and Jessica, and a few lines (very few) here and there between dialog. Though I consider myself a strict purist when it comes to Shakespeare, and will accept nothing short of unabridged, I would still consider this audiobook to meet the unabridged standards. It cuts out very, very, very little and has little consequence on the rest of the book. Therefore, I’d say that if you too are looking for an unabridged copy, as I was, this would due perfectly fine.
