Publisher Description

In this psychological thriller, a missing patient raises concerns in a New York hospital, but as others start disappearing every dark possibility becomes more and more likely.

To Senior Midwife Lucy Ryuan, pregnancy is not an unusual condition—it's her life's work. But when two kidnappings and a vicious stabbing happen on her watch in a university hospital in Manhattan, her focus abruptly changes. Something has to be done, and Lucy is fearless enough to try.

Rumors begin to swirl, blaming everyone from the Russian Mafia to an underground adoption network. Lucy teams up with a skeptical NYPD detective to solve the case, but the truth is far more twisted than a feisty single mom could ever have imagined.

Take A Pass

I usually enjoy any book with James Patterson on it. This one not so much. The narrator was very exceedingly dull. The main character while you understand her outrage, I found it hard to empathize with her actions. What bothered me most is central reason for what happens in the book. My entire life has been affected by it and even the idea of someone thinking this up, bothers me to no end.

Awful

There is a reference in this book to someone being as silly as Barney the Dinosaur. I think Barney the Dinosaur actually wrote this book. The protaganist is simply annoying and melodramatic. The plot is totally unrealistic and the characters are shallow. I listed to a little over 70 percent of this and just couldn't finish it. I have no idea why James Patterson would put his name on something like this. Has Patterson resorted to pimping his name out to wannabe authors for a fee to sell books? I'm hesitant to buy another audiobook authored by him and another no name author.

The Midwife Murders

Without a doubt the protagonist in this book is absolutely the most annoying, ridiculous character I have ever encountered in one of Patterson's books. She is such a pain that I found myself rooting against her. I don't like to use the word hate, otherwise I would have given it one star. This was horrible
