It might be a good story
After finishing this book I can't help be a little disappointed. The all star writing team is what drew me to this book In the first place. But this book sets up what seems to be a vey long drawn out story about a rather insignificant empire. While the Mongols were note worthy in their empire they left few lasting contributions on this earth or to any societies. The story revolves around a western ragtag bunch of nights on a quest to accomplish the task of taking down the Mongul Kahn. While the character development is outstanding there is really nothing for the reader to really sink their teeth into outside of that. I was looking for a good story and instead I read a book that seemed nothing more than a set up for many books to come. The problem with this is the story doesn't seem to warrant a second, third fourth, etc. book. The setting and story is really lacking here. I will probably check out the second book but if it's not wrapped up by then I can't imagine wasting time on a third. Do yourself a favor and wait till this is discounted.
