Great new book, but…
I kind of felt that what happened at the end was a forgone conclusion earlier in the book.

Soon as the M/C met a certain other lady, I knew he would have his third wife/girlfriend die somehow. I also feel a great deal less sympathy for the M/C as a whole because it seems he doesn’t actually learn the IMPORTANT lessons for as smart as he actually is and as smart as he THINKS he is. He suffers tragedy due to preventable situations. Then at the end, he doesn’t show a shred of anger towards someone directly responsible for allowing a tragic event to occur. NGL, he just seems like a lazy emotionless robot who just acts out a role for the reader. The overall series is still solid and enjoyable, just expect to get annoyed at times with preventable outcomes as you read. Some outcomes are amazing BECAUSE the characters in question actually does things like a sane person who stops and thinks.
