Publisher Description
A new male/male hockey romance from 24-time USA Today best seller Sarina Bowen!
My name is Hudson Newgate, but my teammates call me "New Guy".
That was my nickname in Chicago, too. And Vancouver. That’s what happens when you keep getting traded. Brooklyn is my last chance, especially after my poor performance last season.
But I can make this work. The new guy knows to keep his head down and shoot the puck. The new guy puts the game first.
What he doesn’t do is hook up with the other new guy—a hot athletic trainer who lives in my building. Gavin needs this job with my team. He’s a single dad with responsibilities.
We can’t be a couple. My arrogant agent–who’s also my father–will lose his mind if I’m dating a dude. And my team needs me to score goals, not whip up a media circus.
Too bad Gavin and I are terrible at resisting each other....

Perfection
Gavin and Hudson were so much swoon!! I loved how they grew their friendship and then took it to the next level. There's a bit more angst than I usually get in SB's books but it perfectly fit this couple so much.
I love all my visits to Brooklyn but I'm hoping this book opens up visits elsewhere too :)
Couldn’t get enough of Gavin and Hudson
Once again Sarina Bowen knocks it out of the park or maybe arena with this new MM hockey book. Since I don’t usually read blurbs I was really interested to see how this story all got started and I was giddy with excitement about the almost one night stand.
The chemistry between Hudson and Gavin is off charts from the moment they meet. Even with the Chemistry Gavin treats Hudson exactly like the other guys on the team and doesn’t make it awkward. And Hudson struggles with trying to accept Gavin knows his secret which makes things interesting at work. But despite all that I loved watching them go from kind of wary neighbors to completely committed to each other. Then add in Gavin being a single dad and them both interacting with Jordyn will just make you swoon.
The narration by Teddy Hamilton and JF Harding couldn’t have been any better.
Hot Hockey Dad
Once again Sarina Bowen lights the lamp with another winner! I listened to the audio version of this book and let me just say that Sarina knows how to pick the best narrators. Teddy Hamilton (who is my favorite narrator) and J.F. Harding do a fantastic job narrating the book.
This book has three of my favorite genres, hockey, m/m and single parent. Hudson is just one of the new guys on the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team. Having just been traded from Colorado, Hudson is trying to make a name for himself on his new team but hip bursitis, is making it hard to do.
Gavin is the other "new guy" but he is not a player but the new assistant trainer. He is new to the area having moved from New Hampshire wanting a fresh start for him and his daughter Jordan. After his husband passed, Gavin thought it would be good for him and Jordan to start over and get a fresh start. A night out has them sharing drinks and watching hockey not knowing that they are in a sense teammates. Things start to heat up and when they decided to take it back to a non public place, they realize that they not only live in the same building but that they work for the same team.
I was sucked into this book from the first chapter. The energy, banter and heat was so so good. You get to see different sides of these two and I love seeing Hudson with Jordan. He is such a natural with kids. I was a little disappointed with the end which is why I gave it 4 stars. It is however a book that I could listen to again and again.
