Worth the Wait!
Oh, my heart!!! Marni Mann wraps up The Spade Hotel series with Rhett's story in The One -- and she broke me! Having seen pieces of this broody a-hole along the way in the other books of this series, I couldn't wait to get to his backstory, and it was so worth the wait! The only person who seemed to bring out his soft side is his niece, so you just knew there was a good guy buried under that icy exterior.
Rhett and Lainey's story is told in a dual timeline of past and present chapters. Childhood sweethearts, they were the picture-perfect young couple.... until they weren't. I absolutely loved getting to know high school Rhett.
This book is full of heartache, but also full of healing and second chances. I don't want to give more than that away, but Mann really ends this series with the best of the bunch! The One is a book that sticks with you after you're done, and is definitely one that I will come back to for a re-read!
